NAS HIP HOP IS DEAD DEBUTS AT #1

Nas is this week’s big winner on the charts with his Def Jam debut LP Hip-Hop is Dead landing atop the Billboard Top 200 after moving 355,000 copies in it’s first week in stores. This impressive first week showing marks the third number one debut of the Queensbridge, New York MC’s career. He first topped the charts back in 1996 with his sophomore effort It Was Written, and again in 1999 with I Am. Also landing in the top 10 this week is Bow Wow, whose fifth solo LP The Price Of Fame moved 262K units, placing him at #6. Meanwhile, Trick Daddy enters the Top 200 at #48, selling just over 87,000 units of his latest Back By Thug Demand.
